چکیده

Abstract Background and Aims Pulmonary arterial hypertension (PAH) is a common complication of congenital heart disease (CHD). There were several variables predictor mortality in PAH-CHD from previous studies, but study with shunts has never been done, especially Indonesia. This aims to identify independent predictors among adult shunt Dr. Sardjito Hospital, Yogyakarta, Method Results We conducted retrospective cohort that included patients COHARD-PH (The Congenital HeARt Disease Hypertension) registry who recruited July 2012 - October 2020. Twelve selected as potential mortality. Predictor obtained clinical (WHO-functional class, SaO2, 6-min walking distance), laboratory (haemoglobin, NT-pro BNP), echocardiographic (pericardial effusion, defect size, TAPSE), hemodynamic (RA pressure, cardiac index, SvO2, flow ratio) data at the time diagnosis PAH. Baseline characteristics showed significantly lower systolic blood higher incidence Eisenmenger syndrome, BNP, output subjects died compared those survived. Multivariate analysis index an (OR 7.69; p = 0.011). Systolic pressure was significant confounder affecting 10.56; 0.001). Conclusion Cardiac shunts. on

Management of pulmonary arterial hypertension associated with congenital heart disease.

Congenital heart diseases are the most common congenital malformations and account for about eight cases per 1000 births and are often associated with pulmonary arterial hypertension. Increased shear stress and the excess flow through the pulmonary vascular bed due to a systemic-to-pulmonary shunt lead to the development of pulmonary vascular disease and an increase in pulmonary vascular resist...

Riociguat for pulmonary arterial hypertension associated with congenital heart disease

OBJECTIVE The Pulmonary Arterial hyperTENsion sGC-stimulator Trial-1 (PATENT-1) was a randomised, double-blind, placebo-controlled phase III trial evaluating riociguat in patients with pulmonary arterial hypertension (PAH). PATENT-2 was an open-label long-term extension to PATENT-1. Here, we explore the efficacy and safety of riociguat in the subgroup of patients with persistent/recurrent PAH a...

Pulmonary arterial hypertension associated with congenital heart disease. Personal perspectives.

The management of patients with congenital heart disease (CHD) and pulmonary arterial hypertension (PAH) has changed dramatically with the development of targeted therapy with selective pulmonary vasodilators. The number of adult Japanese patients with PAH associated with CHD is increasing. It is important to develop evidence-based guidelines for the management of these patients, and to achieve...

Evaluation of QRS, QTc, and JTc intervals in Congenital Heart Disease with Pulmonary Hypertension

Background Pulmonary hypertension (PH) in congenital heart disease affects the patient’s prognosis. Prolonged QRS and QTc intervals in ECG may intensify life-threatening dysrhythmia in patients. We aimed to investigate the correlation between QRS, QTc, and JTc intervals prolongation in ECG with PH in Congenital Heart Disease (CHD) patients. Mate...

[Pulmonary hypertension associated with congenital heart disease].

INTRODUCTION Congenital heart diseases are among the most common congenital malformations at birth with an incidence of 8/1,000 live births. These defects are characterized by a heterogeneous group of abnormal defects and connections between the cardiac chambers and vessels with different haemodynamic consequences and hence, varying need for follow-up and interventions. The most common forms ar...
